In collaboration with the Vice President for Student Life, the Dean of Spiritual Life and University Chaplain casts a vision for spiritual engagement that integrates and engages the student experience in ways that allow the lives of students to be enriched by the college experience at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Responsibilities include Chapel planning and implementation, spiritual formation opportunities, and global outreach.
Work schedule includes frequent evenings and weekends.
- Master’s degree in theology, divinity, Christian Education or related field is required. Doctoral degree in a related field is preferred.
- Active, committed membership in a Baptist church congregation is required. Ordained or Licensed Baptist Minister preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a ministerial role in the college environment or with a college-aged population is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of a broad base of faith-based traditions, beliefs, and practices, sufficient to support the diverse religious or spiritual needs of the campus.
- Competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
- Competency in general office equipment operation is required.
- Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under UMHB auto coverage.
