Description

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s College of Humanities and Sciences is seeking a visiting, non-tenure-track faculty position in English for the 2021-22 academic year.  UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 22,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
 

English Instructor Responsibilities: Teach all levels of English classes in the UMHB’s Academic Core including First-Year Composition (FYC) courses and sophomore-level literature.  Instructors typically will teach 15 hours per semester with usually two course preparations.
 

Qualifications:  Candidate must have at least a Masters degree as well as 18 graduate hours in English.  Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in English. Candidate must show strong evidence of teaching FYC courses as well as sophomore-level literature.  Candidate must exhibit excellent teaching and communication skills with a commitment to enhancing the quality of education. Candidate must be an active, committed Christian.
