Description
Responsibilities: 

Supervises the daily operations of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and small residential appliances (microwaves, ranges, refrigerators, washers and dryers, installation, maintenance, and repairs.  Performs, coordinates, or supervises assigned preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance of HVAC systems.  Assists in the installation of HVAC systems.  Performs advanced testing, preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC systems. Performs or coordinates on-call duties as assigned.  Assures exceptional customer service and team skills.  Integrates safety procedures into every job task.   

Minimum Requirements: 
  1. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  2. Trade school or Associates degree in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning field is strongly preferred.
  3. A minimum of five (5) years employment experience as a HVAC technician (installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair) is required, with specific experience in boiler and chilled water systems.
  4. Must possess a refrigerant handling license (EPA 608) and CFC license.
  5. Proficiency in the use of power tools (drills, saws, sanders, etc) and a/c related tools is required.
  6. A minimum of five (5) years employment experience in staff supervision or team leading is required.
  7. The successful completion of OSHA/safety training in PPE, lock out – tag out procedure, forklift operation and related topics is strongly preferred.
  8. Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  9. Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable by UMHB auto coverage.
