Performs all duties associated with the daily operations of the university museum; maintaining exhibits, creating and implementing 2 rotating exhibits per year, guiding visitors through the facility, maintaining records and inventory, and continually documenting UMHB history. Plan and implement alumni events and communication. Serves as a primary contact for museum visitors and UMHB history and research. Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including assigned weekend and evening hours to facilitate alumni events and activities.
REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s degree from UMHB.
- Minimum of two years full-time employment experience in a professional position with a high level of customer interaction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency in social media use, to include at a minimum Facebook, Instagram, smartphone applications and Twitter.
- Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
- Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including assigned weekend and evening hours to facilitate alumni events and activities.
- Basic skill in photography.
PREFERRED:
- Experience in business writing, public relations and/or graphic and display design.
- Basic skill in website design and maintenance.
- Catalogue and inventory experience.
