Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Humanities and Sciences seeks an Assistant / Associate Professor for its Chemistry Department beginning Fall 2018. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Chemistry Department offers one undergraduate degree program that includes two areas of emphases, an emphasis in chemistry and an emphasis in biochemistry.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of over 20,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
 

Faculty Responsibilities:   Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department, college, and university.

Specific Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate courses in organic chemistry lecture and laboratory, introductory non-major’s chemistry, introductory major’s chemistry, and advanced courses. The teaching load is typically 12 hours per semester undergraduate courses with three course preparations.

Qualifications: 
  1. Doctorate in organic chemistry is required; ABD will be considered (tenure-track status requires terminal degree in hand).
  2. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
  3. Must be an active, and committed Christian.
