Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s Scott and White College of Nursing seeks two qualified nursing faculty for its Bachelors of Science in Nursing program, with options to begin January or August 2018. These are non-tenure track positions with initial appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, commensurate with experience. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Scott and White College of Nursing has approximately 525 undergraduate nursing students and offers two undergraduate degree programs which lead to the BSN degree.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of over 20,000 in the heart of central Texas.  Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Faculty Responsibilities:   Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department, college, and university.

Specific Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate courses in nursing. The teaching load is typically 12 hours per semester undergraduate courses with two course preparations. In addition, each faculty member is responsible for teaching in the acute care clinical area one to two days a week.
 
Qualifications: 
  1. A master’s degree in Nursing is required.
  2. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
  3. Must be an active, and committed Christian.
  4. Additionally:Critical care experience in nursing with current experience in critical care, surgical intensive care or emergency department care.
  5. A current and valid Texas RN license is required. Current licensure in another state with eligibility to achieve Texas RN licensure within six (6) months of hire may be substituted.
