Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Humanities and Sciences seeks a Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Sociology for its Social Work, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Department beginning August 2018. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Social Work, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Department offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree programs in Sociology.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of over 20,000 in the heart of central Texas.  Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Faculty Responsibilities:   Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department, college, and university.

Specific Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate courses in Sociology at both the introductory and upper level and related courses. The teaching load is 12 hours per semester undergraduate courses with three course preparations.
 
Qualifications: 
  1. Masters’ degree with 18 graduate hours in Sociology is required; Doctorate is preferred.
  2. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential.
  3. Must be an active and committed Christian.
