The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this position.
Responsibilities: Manages the operations of the Electro-Mechanical branch of the Physical Plant Department, which includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical and plumbing, and commercial appliances. Directs work order management, staff scheduling, assigned contract management, purchasing and inventory duties. Engages qualified vendors and contractors when needed, in compliance with university policies and processes. Assures safety and compliance of assigned areas. Provides effective supervision to assigned employees. Directs the installation, preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance of assigned systems and equipment. Ensures compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations. Maintains records, diagrams, manuals and related documents for assigned systems and equipment. Integrates safety procedures into every job task for self and assigned staff. Maintains timely and accurate communication with the Director, Physical Plant regarding provision of services, staff performance, and significant occurrences. Provides excellent customer service.
Performs or coordinates on-call duties as assigned. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the University’s mission and who will be an active participant in their local church.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
- Trade school or Associates degree in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning field is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years employment experience managing Mechanical Systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Commercial Equipment operations is required.
- Experience in boiler and chilled water systems preferred.
- Must possess (or attain within 6 months) a refrigerant handling license (EPA 608) and CFC license.
- Proficiency in the use of power tools (drills, saws, sanders, etc.) and a/c related tools is required.
- Experience in staff supervision or team leading is preferred.
- The successful completion of OSHA/safety training in PPE, lock out – tag out procedure, forklift operation and related topics is strongly preferred.
- Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable by UMHB auto coverage.
- Must agree to the University's Employee Statement of Understanding.
