Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Education seeks Assistant/Associate Professor for its Doctor of Education program, beginning August 2018. This is a 9-month tenure-track position with summer teaching on a rotating basis. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare future educators for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Doctor of Education program exists to create exemplary educational leaders, through a Christian framework, and focuses in one of three concentrations of study: P-12, Higher Education or Leadership in Nursing Education. These leaders will be grounded in leadership theory, application strategies, consumption/production of research, collaboration, data-driven decision making, and the blending/balancing of knowledge, ethics, and faith in the overall leadership process. The three-year program prepares graduates to engage in leadership, collaboration, decision-making, research, and reform initiatives in various educational sectors.

The Doctor of Education degree prepares students for executive leadership roles in higher education or in P-12 district settings leading to administrative positions. The roles that program graduates currently occupy include deans, principals, superintendents, program coordinators, and presidents. The Leadership in Nursing Education concentration prepares students with evidence based practice in the classroom and clinical setting, as well as innovations in classroom, clinical and simulation learning.

The 60-hour program is a comprehensive program that integrates the best of educational disciplines and is delivered in a nontraditional (5 weekends per semester) cohort format for fall and spring courses, along with local, state, national, and international trips in the summer terms, which faculty share on a rotating basis.
