Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s Scott and White College of Nursing seeks a qualified Director for its graduate nursing programs.  This is a full-time year-round tenure-track position with initial appointment of at least the rank of Associate Professor, commensurate with experience.  UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The College of Nursing has approximately 60 graduate nursing students and offers a Master of Science in Nursing with two tracks, Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator; and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with two tracks: APRN and Administration

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of over 20,000 in the heart of central Texas.  Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Faculty Responsibilities:   Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department, college, and university.

Specific Responsibilities: In cooperation with the College Dean, provides effective leadership to the graduate nursing programs.  Directs the program’s curriculum, accreditation process, program evaluation, learning outcomes, and faculty supervision. Achieves and maintains robust student enrollment and retention.  Advises and guides students toward successful program completion.  Serves as liaison with external resources, including precept/clinical experiences for students.  Leads and monitors full compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Teaches master’s and doctoral-level courses in nursing.  The Director’s teaching responsibilities are two courses each semester. Additional compensation is paid for summer teaching.

Qualifications: 
  1. A doctoral degree in nursing or healthcare related field (Ph.D., DNP) is required.
  2. Additionally, a Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
  3. Texas APRN licensure with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  4. Teaching experience is required, preferably teaching experience at the graduate level.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
  6. Must be an active, and committed Christian.
