JOB DUTIES:
Seeking certified fitness instructors for the following class types: Zumba, yoga, boot camp, indoor cycling/spinning, and interval/weight training. Under the supervision of the Director, Campus Recreation, provides group fitness instruction to UMHB constituents, monitors and educates on fitness and safety, and maintains safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.REQUIREMENTS:
- A current and valid fitness certification is required (AFAA Primary Group Fitness Certification or equivalent, and/or proof of certification in the type of class for which you are being hired, ie Yoga, Zumba).
- Competency in group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm is required.
- Experience teaching group fitness classes is strongly preferred.
THIS POSTING IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF AN OPEN POSITION. Applications for part-time group fitness instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings become available. Future assignments are on a semester-by-semester basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
