Description
Responsibilities:  Leads the design, implementation and evaluation of the university’s student success initiatives to increase student persistence to graduation, including oversight of the Center for Academic Excellence, academic advising services, retention program and related activities. Serves as a key leader in fostering the academic excellence and success of all UMHB students. Provides vision for the programs that enhance the student experience at the University by building partnerships, setting benchmarks, developing best practices and initiating collaborative efforts with multiple campus constituents across all divisions of the University. Fosters deep collaboration with Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, and Student Life.  Serves as a member of Provost’s Council. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • A minimum of five (5) years progressive responsibility in higher education, with experience in student advising, academic support services, retention services, or a related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically, collaboratively, and seamlessly across diverse campus stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge about best practices in student retention and success.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills with an ability to develop sophisticated interpretation of research with a solutions focus.
