Description
Responsibilities:  
Facilitates and directs assigned areas of the Sports Information office, in compliance with UMHB, American Southwest Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures. Serves as the primary media contact for assigned athletics programs Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with sources vital to UMHB Crusader Athletics, including ASC Office, all media outlets, UMHB student newspaper and year book, UMHB Advancement Division, and SID’s from other institutions. Maintains official stats/records for all assigned events, using prescribed procedures and formats.  Serves as an ambassador for the athletics programs of UMHB.  Supports athletics programs with presence, facilitation and enthusiasm.  Frequent evening and weekend hours are required. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, broadcasting, sports management, or related field is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience in an intercollegiate Sports Information setting is preferred.
  • Experience in web site maintenance/design is preferred.
  • Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  • Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under UMHB auto coverage.
