Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Christian Studies seeks qualified faculty for the position of Instructor in Biblical Studies beginning Fall 2019. This is a non-tenure track position. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 20,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Faculty Responsibilities:  Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development, student advising, professional attainment, and service to department, college, university, and the community.

Specific Responsibilities: Teach entry-level, undergraduate courses in Old and New Testament. The successful applicant will teach five sections (15 hours) each semester. Other responsibilities include availability to students through office hours and participation in College meetings.
 
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Religion is required, preferably with an emphasis in Biblical Studies; ABD will be considered. The successful candidate must be an active and committed Christian. Because of the specific mission of the College of Christian Studies, successful candidates must be a Baptist and must sustain active membership in a local Baptist church. 

Excellent teaching and communication skills and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
