Description
Responsibilities: 

Manages and maintains the university’s official websites, ensuring the integrity and functionality of the university’s web presence. Leads the programmatic development of web sites and systems that meet university branding, marketing and communications standards. Oversees the programming, development, testing and implementation of web-based system and data collection, assuring security compliance and project management. Provides highly specialized computer knowledge and skills to support the planning, creation and assessment of university web sites and applications in support of academic and administrative units across the UMHB campus. Works closely with university administration, information technology staff, and third-party vendors to advise and implement web upgrades and devise effective strategies to enhance the official website’s design, functionality, and online search engine friendliness and accessibility. Participates in the planning of website strategy for the university. Coordinates and maintains active presence on the university’s social media sites and monitors all UMHB-related social media sites to identify issues, comments or situations that require administrative awareness or action. Manages the university’s digital announcement request system and the creation and posting of the digital files required for the digital signage system.

Minimum Requirements: 
  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field is required.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years employment experience in website design and management is required, preferably within an institution of higher learning.
  3. Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  4. Strong writing skills are required, with a demonstrated knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
  5. Proficiency in project management, including vendor selection and management.
  6. Experience in website management with a content management system.
  7. Proficiency in the use of HTML and CSS.
  8. Proficiency in PHP, Twig template engine.
  9. Competency in web scripting languages and relational database functionality (SQL).
  10. General knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  11. General knowledge of SEO.
  12. Competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.).
  13. Proficiency in general office equipment operation.
  14. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop preferred.
